Every Tuesday, approximately 30 Cambridge-Isanti High School students come together for Gamers Club — a place to play, connect, and belong. 🎮

Students enjoy video games, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and other tabletop games while building friendships and practicing the Bluejacket Way through honesty, respect, self-discipline, responsibility, and compassion.

Thank you to the students who have helped shape the club over the years and to staff facilitator Jeni Zortman for helping create a welcoming space students look forward to each week. 🎲💙

During a recent FLEX exploratory session, students at Cambridge Middle School welcomed back former middle school teaching legend Mr. Dan Jakovich.

FLEX sessions give middle schoolers dedicated time during the school day to explore new interests, build skills, and learn through interactive experiences. Mr. Jakovich shared his knowledge and passion by demonstrating hunting dog training techniques, teaching students basic commands and skills for training puppies and young dogs. 🐾

How many students are excited enough about chemistry to voluntarily show up to school before the sun rises? At Cambridge-Isanti High School, it's an annual tradition!

Tomorrow, October 23, at 6:02 a.m., CIHS students will gather to celebrate Mole Day! This annual tradition celebrates Avogadro's Number (6.02 × 10²³) with exciting chemistry experiments, impressive demonstrations, and a whole lot of Bluejacket enthusiasm!

👏 We love seeing students so excited about learning that they're willing to show up before daylight to experience science in action. A special thank you to Mr. Rink and our local fire department for helping make this memorable tradition possible!

🌱 Students at Cambridge-Isanti High School are seeing firsthand how learning can grow beyond the classroom.

Vegetables grown in the community garden located at CIHS were harvested and later used by students in Mr. Jensen’s and Mrs. Carstensen’s Foods 1 classes to make fresh, homemade salsa.

From growing and harvesting food to preparing it in class, students practiced important skills while learning more about nutrition, food preparation, and where their food comes from.

Thank you to Mr. Jensen and Mrs. Carstensen for creating engaging, hands-on learning opportunities for students. 🍅

Supporting Students Through Connection

🤝 At Cambridge-Isanti High School, Check and Connect gives students dedicated time during the school day to get the support they need to stay on track.

Students can work on credit recovery or credit completion while also checking in with staff about grades, assignments, attendance, and goals. These regular connections help identify challenges early and give students another trusted adult in their corner.

Students in our aviation themed courses are using drones to get hands-on experience with flight concepts, navigation, and modern technology.

Having a licensed pilot as an instructor gives our students real-world guidance on what it takes to pursue a career in aviation. By practicing drone operations as part of the coursework, students build practical skills, explore new interests, and open doors to exciting future opportunities in aviation.
