In Cambridge-Isanti Schools, we teach and exemplify five core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, self-discipline and compassion. Our Bluejacket character traits are the foundation of our Student Code of Conduct, character education, anti-bullying efforts, social-emotional learning and our positive behavioral and intervention support framework. Beginning in early childhood and reinforced through high school, children learn self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making as a foundation for success throughout life.
-
Anti-Bully
At Cambridge-Isanti Schools, we take proactive steps against bullying. We utilize resources from PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center. Schools participate in Unity Day each October.
A safe and civil environment is needed for students to learn and attain high academic standards and to promote healthy human relationships. Bullying, like other violent or disruptive behavior, is conduct that interferes with a student’s ability to learn and/or a teacher’s ability to educate students in a safe environment.

CASEL
Cambridge-Isanti Schools utilizes the CASEL Framework. The CASEL 5 addresses five broad and interrelated areas of competence and highlights examples for each: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. More information about the CASEL Framework can be found at casel.org.

Change to Chill
Cambridge-Isanti Schools is pleased to partner with Allina Health to implement Change to Chill. Each of our secondary schools has a Chill Room offering students, staff, and program participants an escape from their busy days and daily stressors with a designated space for them to hang out, chill, and recenter themselves
Change to Chill also offers free online mental health resources for teens designed to help them learn how to relax and integrate healthy habits into their lifestyle. Whether you’re a teen yourself, a mentor or a parent, explore our mindfulness guides and stress relief activities for teens to help yourself and others soothe their minds and Change to Chill.

PBIS
Cambridge-Isanti Schools has implemented PBIS district-wide and has been recognized as a leader in Minnesota. “Positive behavioral interventions and supports” or “PBIS” means an evidence-based framework for preventing problem behavior, providing instruction and support for positive and prosocial behaviors, and supporting social, emotional and behavioral needs for all students. Schoolwide implementation of PBIS requires training, coaching, and evaluation for school staff to consistently implement the key components that make PBIS effective for all students.
-
Professional Development
All licensed staff receive professional development in areas related to social-emotional learning, PBIS, mental health, anti-bullying, and suicide prevention. The district recently partnered with Top 20 and Willow Sweeney to offer a two-year series for staff about meeting the needs of students and staff during the pandemic.
-
Student Services
Cambridge-Isanti Schools offers support for students through our Student Support Services Department. Depending on grade level, students have access to a social worker, counselor, and/or chemical health specialist. The district also participates in Minnesota's School Linked Mental Health program.
