Scott Peterson,
Principal
Email: speterson@c-ischools.org
Phone: 763-691-6605Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am very excited to be a part of your child’s development. Our fundamental goals are to create a safe and responsive learning environment that supports and guides our students in becoming passionate and life-long learners.
In our continued goal to communicate efficiently and effectively with our families, Cambridge Intermediate School has worked to create a website that will be easy to access and provide you with timely and important information about CIS, and also celebrates our students and school. This website has been developed to enable everyone to become familiar with our school, its policies, and other procedures.
Now more than ever, families and school staff need to work together to help support our students. In continuing to improve communication, we will ensure students have the opportunity to reach their full potential academically and socially. A strong partnership is essential.
Our website will be updated regularly. It will have important school and district links that families will/may need to access throughout the school year. I encourage you to visit our website on a regular basis to help keep you informed on what is happening at CIS!

Bluejacket Pride / PBIS
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) PBIS Matrix is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture that is needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. Attention is focused on creating and sustaining primary (schoolwide), secondary (classroom), and tertiary (individual) systems of support that improve lifestyle results (personal, health, social, family, work, recreation) for all youth by making targeted misbehavior less effective, efficient and relevant, and desired behavior more functional. Our families will learn more about PBIS as the year progresses.

Visitors to C-I Schools
Welcome Visitors!
Families and volunteers are important partners in supporting student learning in the Cambridge-Isanti Schools! Each year, we welcome many visitors into our schools. To maintain a safe learning environment for our students, we ask that all visitors cooperate with the following visitor procedures during school hours.
- Enter the building at the main entrance.
- Check-in with our office staff and introduce yourself.
- Present a government-issued photo identification (Driver’s License, State ID, etc.). Our staff will scan the ID, issue a visitor pass, and retain the ID for the duration of your visit.
- Please follow all instructions and regulations that may be posted in our schools. For example, schools are alcohol-free and tobacco-free sites.
- Wear the visitor pass so it is visible to all while in the school.
- Stop into the office to pick up your ID and sign out before you leave.
Please note, per Policy 903, an individual or group may be denied permission to visit a school if visitor(s) do not comply with school district procedure or if the visit is not in the best interest of students, employees, or the school district. Office staff will retain your photo ID for the duration of your visit. Your photo ID will be returned to you when you sign out as a visitor.
