• POLICY 909 - RELATIONS WITH COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

    I. PURPOSE

    The school board recognizes that staff and students of the district benefit from programs and resources provided by the colleges and universities. This policy is designed to support and facilitate program relationships with post-secondary education institutions.

    II. GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY

    The superintendent will encourage opportunities for shared and cooperative services between the district and institutions of higher learning. Additionally, staff members are encouraged to seek out and use the services of college and university faculty members who are willing to serve our schools as instructional resource persons. Shared services which can legally and practically be shared with colleges and universities may be considered by the school board at the recommendation of the superintendent.

    III. POST-SECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTIONS STUDENTS

    A. A student enrolled in a post-secondary enrollment options course may remain at the school site during regular school hours in accordance with established procedures.

    B. A student enrolled in a post-secondary enrollment options course may be provided with reasonable access, during regular school hours, to a computer and other technology resources that the student needs to complete coursework for a post-secondary enrollment course in accordance with established procedures.
