2023-2024 Employee Benefit Enrollment
BENEFIT OPEN ENROLLMENT starts Tuesday, April 25, 2023 and goes through Friday, May 12, 2023.All employees working 30 hours or more per week MUST REVIEW and select or decline their benefit offers. Each employee must link through Smart Employee Self Serv (ESS), then select Online Benefit Enrollment (which directs you to Plan Source) to make elections, additions, or changes. We have a change in medical providers to UMR/United Healthcare, and an increase in premiums for medical and dental. Your detailed enrollment is very important.For YOU, we are providing free benefit enrollment assistance by appointment, and at your convenience. The directions on how to schedule a time with a benefit counselor are attached. These benefit counselors walk you through enrollment, answer all questions about each benefit, and assist you every step of the way.If you have any questions please contact Pamela Mix, HR Specialist at pmix@c-ischools.org or 763-689-6209. Please watch for more communications as these weeks of open enrollment move along through May 12, 2023.Important Notes* The Plan Year is effective starting on July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.* After Friday, May 12, 2023 you will not be able to make changes unless you have a qualifying life event or HIPAA Special Enrollment as defined by IRS regulations.* BE SURE to confirm the accuracy of your personal information, and your dependents information for beneficiary options, social security numbers, email addresses, home addresses and telephone numbers.* You will be able to "checkout" your elections after you have gone into each offer and either declined, accepted, or made changes, and clicked "update" tab. If you didn't "checkout", your benefit elections will not have been recorded properly. 2022-23 Cambridge-Isanti MANDATORY Trainings
As a reminder, all staff are required to complete the modules for Mandatory Trainings for 2022-23, which include: Bloodborne Pathogens, Employee Right to Know, Policies and Practices Annual Review + Employee Handbook, and Seizure Training. This year, all of these training modules are within one Google Form called 2022-23 Cambridge-Isanti MANDATORY Trainings. Please click on this link and complete as soon as possible. These trainings can be done all at once, or you can exit out and come back again later. Your progress will be saved but it will start over at the beginning, so you will need to page through until you are back on uncompleted questions.
The deadline to complete the trainings is October 23rd.
(Please note, if you are in the custodial, food service, or bus driver group and recently attended or will attend the in-person training, you do not need to complete the trainings, as you have met the requirement.)
Cambridge-Isanti Employee Substitute Referral Form
No one understands the opportunities and rewards of working with our students, families, and educators like our C-I Schools employees! That’s why we want to reward you for connecting us with individuals who have the same strong work ethic, resiliency, and compassion necessary to meet the unique needs of all our students.We are offering all employees of the district a unique oppurtunity to receive a $100 stipend if you refer a qualified substitute to join C-I Schools. This referral program is for all substitute positions throughout the district. Short Call Substitute Teacher License Guidance is attached.Eligibility
- Referrals must be for a new substitute.
- Referrals must not currently be in the hiring process.
- The referral will be asked to provide your name during the onboarding process.
Stipend Information
- In order to receive the stipend: the new substitute must successfully complete a background check, licensure requirements, and has substituted in our district for a minimum of 15 days throughout the school year.
- Active employees may receive a $100 stipend per eligible referral (not to exceed $500).
- Referral stipends cannot be split between employees.
- Referral stipends are subject to relevant federal, state, and local taxes.
- Stipend will be paid out at the end of the school year.

Health and Safety
Cambridge-Isanti Schools is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for students and staff. To achieve this goal, the district has supported the formation of a district-wide safety committee that holds regular monthly meetings. The safety committee includes representatives from each bargaining unit as well as each building within the district.
The Cambridge-Isanti Schools safety committee is a recommending committee with the purpose of bringing forward employee health and safety recommendations for administrative consideration and approval. Responsibilities may include a review of employee injury reports, analysis of building loss histories and trends, inspection of district facilities, review of employee and committee member safety suggestions, and communicating with district employees regarding health and safety matters.

Machine Readable Files
Machine-readable files are a requirement of the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule.
Health insurers are required to publicly display certain health care price information via machine-readable files on their websites beginning in 2022. These machine-readable files will include negotiated rates with in-network providers, allowed amounts for out-of-network providers and may include prescription-drug pricing.
