Meet the Principal
Randy Pauly, Principal
Email: rpauly@c-ischools.org
Phone: 763-691-8605Welcome to an exciting new year at Isanti Middle School. On behalf of all of our staff, we look forward to working with you in partnership to achieve our goals in developing proficient learners, increasing student achievement, and building a safe, healthy school community.
As Principal of Isanti Middle school, I would like to welcome you to our building website. This website has been prepared in the hope that it will become a valuable resource, providing you with up-to-date school news and information. This website has been developed to enable everyone to become familiar with our school, its policies, and other procedures.
As demands of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to ensure that our children reach their fullest potential. I believe that all of us - the school and the community - must work together as a School Community to guarantee all of our students find success. It’s our responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful.
One of our most important responsibilities to you is that we keep you informed of all that is taking place at school. One of the ways we do this is regularly updating our school website. You will find up-to-date events, classroom photographs, and additional information, so I encourage you to visit it as often as possible. Another critical communication tool that we use to keep parents informed is IMS News, which we send out periodically throughout the school year. In addition to the website and IMS News, I want you to know that you are welcome to call me if you have any questions or concerns.
I look forward to another great year at Isanti Middle School! Go Big Blue!

Family Resources
Attendance - It is important for students to attend school and class, on time, every day and every period.
Encore - Encore is an opportunity for students to receive homework help and support for current classroom work on Monday's and Wednesday's from 3-4pm.
Targeted Services - Targeted Services is an opportunity for students to receive extra support and tutoring in Math and Reading on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 3-5pm.
Teacher Office Hours - Contact teachers to see when there is an opportunity for students to get some extra help. Some teachers have specific times they are available, other teachers have more flexibility. A phone callor email or review of their classroom syllabus with your student may provide you the answer about availability.
Academic Progress - Monitoring your student's academic progress regularly can help you partner with the school and provide your student with the necessary supports for them to be successful.
The primary purpose of grading is to communicate student achievement to students, parents, school administration, post secondary institutions, and employers. (Ken O'Conner, Emphasis on Summative vs Formative)
For more information about family resources and supports for math, reading, academic progress and work completion please reivew this Family Resources handout.
School Linked Mental Health Program - The School Linked Mental Health (SLMH) Program provides mental health services in many school districts across the state of MN. SLMH Programs connect mental health services with schools and students.
The Lighthouse organization works collaboratively with the school and otehr agencies to assist children and families with mental health needs. For more information please see the SLMH Program document.

WEB - WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” is Isanti Middle School's orientation and transition program that welcomes our incoming 6th graders to IMS and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from our 8th grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate 6th grade success.

Visitors to C-I Schools
To comply with current public health orders, Cambridge-Isanti Schools will only allow essential visitors into our school buildings. While in our buildings, a mask must be worn at all times. Large group gatherings will occur virtually while under these public health orders.
Parents and Guardians may enter the main office to drop off or pick up a student. A mask must be worn while in the office. To facilitate the process, please call ahead to inform the office of your arrival time.
Essential Visitors (district staff, contractors) are required to wear a mask in our buildings at all times. You will be asked to verify your identity by showing office staff a form of photo identification such as a driver’s license or state ID card. Your ID will be scanned into our visitor management database and a photo visitor badge will be printed and used as your visitor credential for the day. You will be issued a colored lanyard with a plastic sleeve that will hold your credential. The lanyard must be placed around your neck with your visitor badge visible at all times during your visit. At the completion of your visit, you will be required to check back into the main office to return your visitor badge and to sign out as a visitor. Office staff will retain your photo ID for the duration of your visit. Your photo ID will be returned to you when you sign out as a visitor.
Please be aware that our staff has been trained to follow protocol and question visitors who are in the building and not wearing a mask and/or ID badge. Please be advised of school district POLICY #903 which outlines that an individual or group may be denied permission to visit a school if visitor(s) do not comply with the school district procedures or if the visit is not in the best interest of students, employees or the school district.
