Meet the Principal
Chad Gerlach, Principal
Email: cgerlach@c-ischools.org
Phone: 763-552-6301Welcome to an exciting new year at Cambridge Middle School. I look forward to working with you in partnership to achieve our goals in developing proficient learners, increasing student achievement, and building a safe, healthy school community.
As Principal of Cambridge Middle school, I would like to welcome you to our building website. This website has been prepared in the hope that it will become a valuable resource providing you with school news and information. This website has been developed to enable everyone to become familiar with our school, its policies, and other procedures.
As demands of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their fullest potential. I believe that all of us - the school and the community - must work together as an extended family to insure success for all our students. It’s our responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful.
One of our most important responsibilities to you is that we keep you informed of all that is taking place at the school. One of the ways we do this is regularly updating our school website. You can find up-to-date events, classroom photographs, and additional information, so I encourage you to visit it as often as possible. Another critical communication tool that we use to keep parents informed is our CMS Parent and Community Newsletter, which is sent out periodically throughout the school year. In addition to the website and CMS newsletter, I want you to know that you are welcome to call me if you have any questions or concerns.
I look forward to another great year at Cambridge Middle School!

Student Supports
CMS Counseling Support
The CMS counselor provides various supports for students to help them be prepared to learn. The counseling office provides resources regarding mental health, food/clothing/shelter, crisis support, education resources and more. Please visit the CMS Counseling website for more info.
WEB
WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs” is Cambridge Middle School's orientation and transition program that welcomes our incoming 6th graders to CMS and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, the program trains mentors from our 8th grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to middle school and help facilitate 6th grade success. Please visit the CMS WEB website for more info.

Visitors to C-I Schools
Welcome Visitors!
Families and volunteers are important partners in supporting student learning in the Cambridge-Isanti Schools! Each year, we welcome many visitors into our schools. To maintain a safe learning environment for our students, we ask that all visitors cooperate with the following visitor procedures during school hours.
- Enter the building at the main entrance.
- Check-in with our office staff and introduce yourself.
- Present a government-issued photo identification (Driver’s License, State ID, etc.). Our staff will scan the ID, issue a visitor pass, and retain the ID for the duration of your visit.
- Please follow all instructions and regulations that may be posted in our schools. For example, schools are alcohol-free and tobacco-free sites.
- Wear the visitor pass so it is visible to all while in the school.
- Stop into the office to pick up your ID and sign out before you leave.
Please note, per Policy 903, an individual or group may be denied permission to visit a school if visitor(s) do not comply with school district procedure or if the visit is not in the best interest of students, employees, or the school district. Office staff will retain your photo ID for the duration of your visit. Your photo ID will be returned to you when you sign out as a visitor.
