Activities and AthleticsThe Governor’s Executive Order permits athletics and activities to resume practices on January 4, and we will follow that guidance. The State High School League has issued guidance and information for Winter Sports. Strict safety protocols will be in place. Coaches will share pertinent information with respective teams.
C-I is a member of the Mississippi 8 Conference and follows MSHSL rules and guidelines.

Winter activity – October - February
The mock trial team is given a legal case to prepare and present in competition against other schools. Mock trial helps students learn about the legal system and trial law; and helps improve speaking, organization, thinking and cooperative skills.

Winter activity – Dec.-Feb.
A competition play involving approximately 20 students. Tryouts for cast and crew take place in early December; with rehearsals after school in December and January. The play is performed in mid-January at a conference festival, in late January before parents/students; sectionals and state competition follow.

Spring Activity – Jan.-May
The FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®) combines the excitement of sport with science and technology to create a unique varsity Sport for the Mind™. FRC helps high-school-aged young people discover the rewarding and engaging world of innovation and engineering. The FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®) stages short games played by robots. The robots are designed and built in six weeks (from a common set of parts) by a team of high-school-aged young people and a handful of engineers-Mentors. Students program and remotely control the robots in competition rounds on the field.
