Title I
Title I Program
Title I is a federally funded program through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) that provides additional support for students who need help in reading and/or math. The goal of Title I is to help all students meet high academic standards and achieve grade-level success.
Title I Services
Cambridge-Isanti Schools use a Schoolwide Title I model, which allows all students in eligible schools to benefit from additional academic support. Schoolwide programs focus primarily on reading and math instruction and may also support attendance, school climate, and student engagement.
Which Schools Have Title I?
Federal law requires Title I services to be provided in schools with the highest percentage of low-income families. Cambridge-Isanti Title I schools include:
- Cambridge Primary School
- Isanti Primary School
- Cambridge Intermediate School
- Isanti Intermediate School
Please review each school’s Schoolwide Title I Plan for more information about its program.
Parent & Family Involvement
Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in annual Title I meetings, family learning opportunities, and school-parent compacts that support student success.
As a parent/guardian, you have the right to:
Know the qualifications of your child’s teachers
Receive regular communication in a language you understand
Access information about your school’s state assessment performance
Help develop school-family compacts and family involvement plans
Parent’s Right to Know
At the beginning of each school year, families in Title I schools may request information about their child’s teachers and staff qualifications. Families must also be notified if their child has been taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet state qualification requirements.
All Cambridge-Isanti teachers are fully qualified.
Working Together for Student Success
Our goal is to help students build strong reading and math skills so they can succeed in grade-level instruction. We value the partnership between families, students, and staff and encourage parents/guardians to contact their school with any questions or concerns.
