Kindergarten Entrance Week, September 5-8, has a modified first week schedule to provide students a more personal introduction to their classmates and their teacher. Half of our kindergarten students will attend all day on Tuesday & Thursday; half will attend all day on Wednesday & Friday. Kindergarten students begin a full week of school on September 11.
Please check your US Mail for a letter with your schedule or contact your school office.

At Cambridge-Isanti Schools, we know how important the kindergarten year is in your child’s education. That’s why we are excited to help each child discover his or her own unique strengths in a respectful, caring, and safe environment.

Our comprehensive curriculum taught by highly-qualified teachers balances active, hands-on experiences in small and large group instructional settings, specifically designed to nurture social/emotional development and early learning skills. Our kindergarten teachers have a genuine love for children and kindergarten. They inspire a passion to wonder, discover, create and excel, and they ignite a love of learning that burns brightly for students through graduation and beyond.

Our experience with the teachers and staff of CPS has been amazing. When we were preparing for our first child to go to kindergarten, I was nervous but was guided through the process by CPS staff every step of the way. I was impressed with the level of care and professionalism offered. Our family feels everyone at CPS values our kids and staff are invested in them as individual learners. We appreciate that we have leading educators who also teach the Caring Critter Way, which reinforces important values for being good community members. Academically and socially, I feel my kids have received an excellent start to their education and their love of school is the direct result!
Ashley Carlson, Parent of a Cambridge Primary School 1st grader
As parents of a kindergartener, we think often about what a critical time it is in our daughter's life, and how these early beginnings can make such a critical difference for the road ahead. We've been grateful and impressed as our daughter's teachers, as well as Principal Ziebarth and the school's staff, have taken such determined care to try to weather the year's evolving and unpredictable challenges, and as they've made persistent efforts to provide continuing opportunities to learn. We look forward to the school having an opportunity to build on that work in (hopefully calmer!) years ahead.
Tim and Kelly Nelson, Current Kindergarten Parents
I am a parent to an only child, and IPS staff, along with the superintendent, principal and kindergarten teachers have been open, caring and amazing to work with! Obviously change is not easy for anyone, but the transition from daycare to kindergarten was seamless for my son. They say they will meet your child wherever they are at in the learning process. And it was 100% true...my son was met exactly where he was in the learning process and has been guided through to be a successful student who is learning so much!
Ann Krueger, Current Kindergarten Parent
My child has learned and grown so much during kindergarten (even with COVID and distance learning). He comes home everyday and tells us about what he and his friends have done. He loves counting numbers and is starting to add them together. It's wonderful to see him learn and grow.
