Spring Momentum: Celebrating New Beginnings, Strong Partnerships, and Community Conversations

As we turn the page to May, the energy of spring continues to build across Cambridge-Isanti Schools. This season has been filled with meaningful connections, community celebrations, and forward-looking conversations about the future of our schools. From welcoming our youngest Bluejackets to honoring soon-to-be graduates, the past few weeks have served as a powerful reminder of what makes our school community so special.

Celebrating the Class of 2038
This spring, we had the joy of welcoming the Class of 2038 through our Kindergarten Discovery events at Cambridge Primary, Isanti Primary, and C-I STEAM School. These students and their families are taking some of their first steps in a journey that will span the next 13 years, filled with growth, learning, friendships, and memories. It’s a moment full of excitement and pride, not only for the students but for our entire school community. Their Bluejacket stories will surely include these exciting moments.

Meanwhile, our current seniors—the Class of 2025—are preparing to take their final steps as Bluejackets. Earlier this month, the Cambridge-Isanti Dollars for Scholars program hosted its annual Scholarship Award Reception, where seniors met face-to-face with local donors who are investing in their futures. Thanks to the continued generosity of our community, this year’s total scholarships reached nearly $253,850—another record-breaking year! To date, our community has provided more than $4.5 million in scholarships, making a lasting impact on generations of Bluejacket graduates.

Celebrating Community Commitment
The Dollars for Scholars program is just one example of the powerful partnerships that support our students. On April 25, the Bluejacket Education Foundation hosted its annual Future Fest event—a joyful evening dedicated to raising funds for learning experiences across the district. Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance and the work of the Foundation’s board and volunteers, the event was a resounding success. The Foundation will soon be awarding spring classroom grants, bringing creative, hands-on learning opportunities to life in schools across the district.

Every day, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to live and work in a community that deeply values education. Whether through financial support, mentorship, or volunteerism, our students benefit from the steady commitment of so many who give their time and resources. We do not take this for granted, and we are sincerely grateful.

Planning with Purpose
Over the past several months, more than 50 dedicated community members have come together to form our Facility Task Force—part of our Strategic Plan (Priority 4.1). This group has now met seven times, toured district buildings, studied enrollment and facility data, and engaged in deep and thoughtful dialogue about the long-term needs of our schools. Their work culminated in a set of recommendations that will help guide our School Board in developing a responsible and community-driven facilities plan. We are grateful for their time, insight, and care for the future of Cambridge-Isanti Schools.

As we look ahead to the final weeks of the school year, we’re excited to celebrate the Class of 2025 together. Graduation season is always a meaningful time—one where we come together as a community to honor the accomplishments, resilience, and promise of our students. We can’t wait to share in those moments with all of you.

GO BIG BLUE!
