A Community Woven Together

There’s something truly special about summer in Cambridge-Isanti. It’s a time when the warmth of the season is matched only by the warmth of our community spirit. From waving flags and candy-filled hands at the Rodeo Days Parade to the joy of reconnecting at the County Fair, this past month has been a powerful reminder of what makes our community exceptional.

Walking the parade route this year, I was struck by the sound of laughter, cheering, and friendly conversations. Neighbors greeted neighbors, kids lined the sidewalks with wide eyes and waving arms, and families gathered in lawn chairs to celebrate not just a summer tradition—but one another. Events like the Parade may seem like simple hometown fun, but they’re so much more. They are symbols of unity, shared values, and the kind of support that defines us as Bluejackets.

That same spirit was on full display at Kids Day at the Fair. Our Cambridge-Isanti Schools team was proud to host a booth again this year, and we were met with a steady stream of families and community members eager to connect. Parents stopped by to share stories of student success, community pride, and gratitude for the relationships their children have built in our schools. What stood out in every conversation was the same theme: our schools are deeply woven into the fabric of this community.

Public education isn’t just about what happens between the first and last bell of the day. It’s about building connections that last a lifetime. Our staff—your neighbors, friends, and fellow community members—care deeply about the children and families they serve. They show up each day with purpose and compassion, working tirelessly to educate, empower, and inspire. That work doesn’t stop in June. Whether it’s Adventure Center summer programming, early childhood events in the parks, summer academic support programs, or our presence at community events, we continue to invest in the relationships that make our schools—and our community—strong.

The connections formed in our classrooms extend into our neighborhoods, our places of worship, our athletic fields, and our community celebrations. It’s one of the reasons so many graduates return to raise families here, trusting Cambridge-Isanti Schools to offer the same supportive, opportunity-rich environment they once experienced themselves.

This July, as we soak up the sunshine and gather at community events, I am filled with gratitude for the many ways we show up for one another. These moments—big and small—are what make our schools more than buildings. They make us a community of belonging.

Thank you for your continued partnership and pride in our public schools. Together, we are building something powerful: not just strong schools, but a strong community where every child feels seen, valued, and supported.

It’s always a great day to be a Bluejacket!
