As Mrs. Wressell notes, "I create parts for most of the songs in my music program to appeal to all types of students—those who read music, those who play instruments, and even those who contribute through choreography or sign language."

Mrs. Larson also emphasizes her approach to helping every student succeed, saying, "My job is to help students achieve the skills they need by providing options within projects and offering one-on-one help, whether it's drawing or shading with colored pencils."

Differentiated instruction allows students to develop skills at their own pace, helping both beginners and advanced learners thrive."

"Art shows and performances create a social atmosphere, bringing people together, and the art itself helps us grow, learn compassion, empathy, and understanding."

Mrs. Wressell shares, "I’ve had students, especially those in special education, shine by singing a solo or playing an instrument in concerts. It’s amazing to watch them develop these skills, especially since they may struggle in other academic areas."

Mrs. Larson adds, "Many students express that art is their favorite subject because it gives them the chance to express themselves. For visual and hands-on learners, art opens doors to a deeper level of understanding and expression."

They worked incredibly hard to practice their lines, and by the end, they were glowing with confidence. It was amazing to see how the arts helped this student overcome personal challenges."
