Bluejacket Brief: Strong Schools, Strong Community

As we close out Volunteer Appreciation Month, we are reminded that our schools and community grow stronger when we all work together. At Cambridge-Isanti Schools, that means volunteers, families, local organizations, businesses, and community members showing up for our students in meaningful ways every day.

Each year, more than 1,000 volunteers give their time in our schools. Together, they contribute over 10,000 hours of service, supporting classrooms, building relationships, and creating a more connected school community for students, staff, and families. We couldn’t be more grateful for the time, care, and commitment each volunteer brings to our schools.

This shared support also meets real needs. Through the work of Volunteer Services and programs such as Here to Help, Every Meal, and the Care Closet, local organizations and community members help provide food, clothing, and everyday essentials so students can focus on learning and feel supported both in and out of the classroom. These efforts strengthen not only our schools, but our entire community.

These connections also bring learning to life beyond the school day. This past week, the Career Center at Cambridge-Isanti High School hosted Career Connections Day. More than 100 local business presenters volunteered their time to share their careers with students, helping them explore future paths and see opportunities available right here in our community. We are thankful for the local businesses and community partners who invest their time and expertise in our students.

This is what it looks like when a community comes together. It is people, time, care, and support making a real difference for Cambridge-Isanti students and families.
