Bluejacket Brief: Excellence in Academics, Arts, and Athletics

At Cambridge-Isanti Schools, we believe success reflects the growth of the whole student. That belief is why the Triple “A” Award is such a meaningful honor.

The Triple “A” stands for Academics, Arts, and Athletics and is presented by the Minnesota State High School League. Students must meet clear criteria in each area, Applications are scored using a rubric, and the highest-scoring students advance to Regional and State levels.

In 2025, Keagen Lowman and Ava Miller were selected to represent Cambridge-Isanti. This month, we are proud to share more about Keagen’s journey, and we look forward to highlighting Ava’s accomplishments soon.

While at CIHS, Keagen balanced Band and Choir with Advanced Placement and College in the Schools courses. He was a member of the National Honor Society and served as a leader in the Link Crew, mentoring incoming ninth graders to the high school. He earned Academic All-Conference, competed in cross country, basketball and tennis, advancing to the state tournament in tennis.

After graduating in 2025, Keagen continued his academic and athletic journey at Augustana University, where he now competes in tennis at the collegiate level.

As a high school senior, Keagan was one of two students who won the statewide Class AA award for excellence in academics, arts, and athletics — one of the highest honors awarded by the Minnesota State High School League.

The Triple “A” Award reminds us that success is not measured by test scores alone. The arts and athletics build discipline, creativity, teamwork, and resilience — strengths that support academic achievement and lifelong growth. When students are encouraged to grow in many directions, they thrive — and our whole community grows stronger because of it.
