Bluejacket Brief: Community Feedback Matters

At Cambridge-Isanti Schools, our mission is to educate, empower, and inspire every student, every day, in partnership with our community. One important way we live out that partnership is by listening to our students, families, staff, and community members.

Throughout the year, we gather feedback in a variety of ways. This includes our Annual Family Survey, advisory groups and committees, Community Education course surveys, and other student and community surveys. Each of these helps us better understand people’s experiences, perspectives, and priorities.

In April, our Annual Family Survey will be shared with all families and will provide an opportunity for broad feedback from across the district. This is one of the most important ways we hear directly from families about their experiences and priorities. Beginning next week, Morris Leatherman Company will also conduct a phone survey on behalf of Cambridge-Isanti Schools. This survey uses a scientific random-sample process to gather feedback from a representative cross-section of district residents and adds another important perspective to our ongoing efforts to listen and learn.

We use the feedback we receive. In the past, it has helped improve communication, shape our strategic plan, and inform planning related to facilities and district programming. It has also helped guide the growth of student opportunities, including Career and Technical Education and career pathways, athletics and activities, enrichment programs, and family engagement events.

Feedback is not reviewed on its own. Survey results are considered alongside other information gathered throughout the year. District leaders, advisory groups, task forces, and the School Board all play a role in reviewing this information. Together, we look for patterns, concerns, and input that help guide decisions. Not every suggestion leads to an immediate change, but all feedback helps us learn, plan, and improve.

If you are contacted in the coming weeks, we encourage you to take part. Responses are confidential, and each one helps us better understand our community and plan for the future.

If you have questions or would like to learn more, we encourage you to reach out to us directly at dist-communications@c-ischools.org. We are committed to sharing clear, accurate information and value ongoing communication with our families and community. Thank you for staying informed, sharing your perspective, and helping us continue to learn and improve together.
