Welcome to Cambridge-Isanti Schools!

Cambridge-Isanti Schools, home to the Bluejackets, has unmatched community support. Our vibrant school community serves approximately 5,000 students, in two primary schools (K-2), two intermediate schools (3-5), two middle schools (6-8), one high school (9-12). We offer families choices in learning options with C-I Online School, a K-5 C-I STEAM School, our traditional community schools and a multi-age special programs campus, in addition to our early childhood and community education programs.

We have some amazing teachers in our district, so dedicated, so talented, who care so much for our students. As a parent, there's nothing more important to me than amazing teachers.

The mission of Cambridge-Isanti Schools, in partnership with our community,
is to EDUCATE, EMPOWER and INSPIRE
EVERY STUDENT, EVERY DAY to achieve their full potential.

Our emphasis on personalized learning, community partnerships and developing a highly-qualified staff have earned the district high ratings for quality education. Guided by our Bluejacket values — honesty, respect, responsibility, self-discipline and compassion — our focus on positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) makes us one of the top five districts in the state recognized as Exemplary by the Minnesota Department of Education.

Our 2025 Strategic Plan has four priorities: student growth and academic success, fostering personal relationships to support student learning, improving mental health and well-being for all students and staff, and supporting partnerships with families and our community.

In recent surveys:

  • 85% of our community believes they receive good value for their investment in our schools.
  • 62% of voters supported a 2021 operating referendum to increase local funding for our schools.
  • 82% of parents rate the quality of education as excellent or good.
  • 85% of parents trust the administration to make decisions in the best interest of children.

The district’s graduation rate consistently trends higher than state and national averages, with 60% college-bound and 40% of our graduates workforce ready. Cambridge-Isanti students have the potential to earn up to 68 college credits through PSEO and College in the Schools at Cambridge-Isanti High School in collaboration with five partner colleges and universities. The Class of 2023 earned 1,698 college credits while in high school—a potential savings of more than $1.7 million in future college tuition. Eleven programs earn articulated college credits in the trades, technical and workforce-ready programs, and 49 students earned vocational welding credits last year. Following our CTE Career Pathways, our students can pursue careers in business, health & human services, engineering and manufacturing, or information technology. For example, our Certified Welders walk into good-paying jobs in high-demand fields.

Our students are well-rounded and most participate in multiple activities. Bluejackets have earned state and national honors in theatre, robotics, mock trial, music and sports. We're the proud home of 2023 National Champion anglers. A member of the Minnesota State High School League and the Mississippi 8 Conference, Cambridge-Isanti High School offers more than 60 athletics and extracurricular activities. Two students in the last decade won Minnesota's Triple-A Award for achievements in academics, arts and athletics. Our notable Bluejacket alumni include:

  • Brig. General Shawn Manke appointed to lead the Minnesota National Guard in 2020
  • Corie Barry – CEO of Best Buy
  • Ryan Larson – a 2020 finalists for Minnesota Teacher of the Year
  • And aspiring Olympian Char Morke '19 — a state champion pole vaulter, gymnast and second class Midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy - still breaking records.

The foundation of all learning is positive developmental relationships that nurture and support students, while also challenging them to exceed their own expectations. With more than half of the District’s teachers possessing a master’s degree or higher, Cambridge-Isanti Schools provide students with multifaceted learning experiences in civics, literacy, technology, arts, science, languages and more.

We offer families choices in learning options with our C-I Online School, a K-5 STEAM-focused elementary school, and our traditional community schools. Along with alternative learning and special education services, our programs are designed to serve all students’ needs. Blended learning, character education, and real-life learning opportunities continue to support an educational experience that empowers students to become responsible, well-rounded community members who pursue their own high expectations.

Cambridge, Isanti, and our neighboring townships are vibrant, growing communities, and our schools are at the center of community life. As an economic driver for our community, our schools education, inspire and empower future leaders and tomorrow's workforce.

This is really a special place to raise a family, and we welcome new residents.
