Dr. Ray Queener
Superintendent of Cambridge-Isanti Schools
Superintendent Dr. Ray Queener interviews Dave Blanchard, 21st century skills teacher at Isanti Intermediate School and School For All Seasons. They apply Chase Mielke’s Locus of Control to the PBIS initiatives at IIS/SFAS, or otherwise known as “Bluejacket Pride.” Listen to this episode to learn how Dave is helping to lead community building and reinforcement of the district’s character traits in students.
I gain a lot more perspective looking at everyone’s roles just in a different set of shoes. @000Dave
One thing that I enjoy teaching is teaching those things that cannot be measured by tests. I’ve really been focusing on our four critical 21st century skills, and those are really just life skills now that we are in the 21st century. We work on creating, collaborating, communicating and critical thinking. @000Dave
It’s less of what we are doing, it is how we are doing it. @000Dave
It’s catching students who have an opportunity to do better and it is reteaching them. @000Dave
They realized Bluejacket Pride is synonymous with PBIS in our building. @000Dave
You have touched so many parts of this district and you are truly a district leader in many regards. @Queener1
Thank you for everything you do for our kids day to day and just as much thank you for what you do for our school district and we’re a better place for what you bring to the table. @Queener1
- I want to recognize all of our staff; it takes a lot of folks to make this organization tick and move us forward. @Queener1
